Good Causes

ShipItCon is a not-for-profit event. Our team members are fuelled by a passion for giving back, paying it forward and caffeine. All left over funds will be donated to local good causes. Each member of the team has chosen a local good cause which they hold dear.

As well as the great causes listed below we wanted to help with the humanitarian crisis happening in the Ukraine and the team made a donation of 5000 euro to the Redcross Ukraine Crisis Appeal in April 2022. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our wonderful sponsors and those folks who purchased tickets before we announced our first speaker. Thank you all.

Ntsoaki (CK) has chosen CARI.

CARI is a leading voluntary organisation with a proven track record in providing child centered specialised therapy and support to children, families and groups affected by child sexual abuse, regardless of means.

John and Tom have chosen Teen-Turn.

Teen-Turn aims to provide teen girls, particularly those from underserved areas, the opportunity to gain hands-on STEM experience so that they can visualize themselves in those kinds of careers and therefore make third level course choices accordingly.

Serena has chosen BeLonG To.

BeLonG To’s vision is a world where LGBTI+ young people are equal, safe, and valued in the diversity of their identities and experiences. BeLonG To’s mission is to support LGBTI+ young people as equals to achieve our vision through youth work, changing attitudes, and research.

John has chosen Aoibheann’s Pink Tie which is a National Children’s Cancer Charity whose mission is to provide practical and financial support available to children suffering from cancer in Ireland and their families.

Edel has chosen A Lust for Life whose vision is a world where the wellbeing of humanity is the headliner on the main stage, and everything else is a support act.

Thomas has chosen Temple Street Children’s Hospital which has been providing outstanding care for the most vulnerable in society over the last 140 years.

Serena has chosen BeLonG To which is a national organisation supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI+) young people in Ireland.

After all the bills and vendors were paid we had a modest sum of €3,810.91 left over which we donated to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
