Good Causes

Coding Grace Foundation is an Irish not-for-profit organisation founded in 2012 supporting diversity in tech through workshops, events and curated news by the community for the community.  Coding Grace are a group of developers based in Ireland who love to code, do other geeky and crafty activities. Some of us code full-time, or just for fun (or both). We have people who are part of other technical user groups such as PyLadies Dublin, Women Who Code Dublin, and more.

In addition to the great causes listed below we wanted to help with the humanitarian crisis happening in the Ukraine and the team made a donation of 5000 euro to the Redcross Ukraine Crisis Appeal in April 2022. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our wonderful sponsors and those folks who purchased tickets before we announced our first speaker. Thank you all.

Teen-Turn aims to provide teen girls, particularly those from underserved areas, the opportunity to gain hands-on STEM experience so that they can visualize themselves in those kinds of careers and therefore make third level course choices accordingly.

BeLonG To Youth Services is the national organisation supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI+) young people in Ireland. Since 2003, we have worked with LGBTI+ young people, between 14 and 23 years, to create a world where they are equal, safe, and valued in the diversity of their identities and experiences. We also advocate and campaign on behalf of young LGBTI+ people, and offer a specialised LGBTI+ youth service with a focus on mental and sexual health, alongside drug and alcohol support. We respond to the needs of LGBTI+ young people in Ireland and we help them thrive.

Aoibheann's Pink Tie will help and offer practical support to the families of children diagnosed with cancer and who are attending St John's Oncology Ward in Our Lady's Children's Hospital. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie “National Children’s Cancer Charity” was set up in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman after the tragic loss of Jimmy’s daughter Aoibheann to cancer aged just 8 years. During Aoibheann’s year long battle with this dreadful disease, the family found little or no financial or practical support  for children and their families.

Jimmy and his family had a large support network of friends and family but found that many on the ward had virtually no support at all.

When Aoibheann passed away the men wore pink ties at the funeral which was Aoibheann’s favourite colour. The charity was formed in her memory to remedy the lack of support for other children and their families going through treatment.

CARI (Children at Risk in Ireland) provides child-centred therapy for children & adolescents who have been affected by sexual abuse. CARI also provides therapy to children, up to 12 years of age, who present with sexually harmful behaviour.

Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street (Irish: Sláinte Leanaí Éireann ag Sráid an Teampaill) is a children's hospital located on Temple Street, Dublin, Ireland. It is a teaching hospital of University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin.^[1]
