Please welcome our first ShipItCon 2025 speaker to the stage!

Sean Blanchfield, CEO of Jentic and member of Ireland’s AI Advisory Council, will take you on a tour of the AI revolution that’s happening right now, where engineers have stopped coding, SaaS is dying, and entire companies can be replaced by collections of AI agents working together like a digital hive mind. He’ll share his tips for how to stay relevant when machines can code, create, think and learn faster than humans. He’ll show you how to weaponize your uniquely human brain, why protecting your attention is  a survival skill in a sea of AI-slop, and the importance of grabbing a share of the new economy that’s coming whether we like it or not.

Please welcome Michelle McDaid to the stage. Michelle is the visionary Founder of The Leading Place, where she leverages her extensive experience to empower businesses to create high-performing and positive workplace environments. Her vast background includes leading and scaling global distributed product development teams in Fintech and HR tech, with senior roles at Workhuman, Fidelity Investments, and AIB.

Please welcome Marc O’Morain to the stage. A seasoned engineer with a sharp product instinct, Marc has spent his career building software across the stack, and across platforms. From hand-optimizing assembly code for PlayStation at Sony, architecting macOS virtualization systems for CircleCI, to building order-management systems on resource constrained kiosks and printers with Flipdish — Marc knows his craft inside out.

Our next speaker is an expert in building systems that stand strong amidst change. A Principal Field Solutions Architect at Pure Storage and a distinguished Microsoft MVP, Docker Captain, and VMware vExpert, he’s also a driving force behind Data Céilí and EightKB. Please give a warm welcome to Andrew Pruski, who will show us how to truly embrace change by building resilient systems with Chaos Engineering!

Next up, we have a true veteran of software engineering with over 40 years of experience building across the entire stack, from device drivers to large-scale internet projects! He’s currently a Staff Engineer on the Pipeline Team at Honeycomb.io, delving into critical telemetry systems like Refinery. Perfectly aligning with our theme of ‘Change,’ please welcome Kent Quirk, who will share insights on ‘Honeycomb’s Refinery: how one product evolves under changing conditions!’

Next up, we have a leading voice in Site Reliability Engineering who understands how to evolve systems in the face of constant change. A contributor to the Site Reliability Engineering book, a Principal Engineer, and a long-time SREcon volunteer, she’s no stranger to the ShipItCon stage. Next up, we have a true pioneer in the world of software development. He’s the originator of Behaviour-Driven Development, an author, and a veteran with over three decades of experience helping leaders and teams simplify complex problems. He understands that the biggest challenge isn’t just change itself, but how to change change. Please give a warm welcome to Daniel Terhorst-North!

Next up on the ShipItCon stage is Cian Crosse! He’s the founder of nineDots.io, friend of ShipItCon and has navigated the journey from spreadsheet chaos to a fully-fledged SaaS product. His lightning talk, “Ship Happens: How We Got from Spreadsheets to SaaS,” is a fantastic case study in building a product from the ground up. Please welcome Cian Crosse!
